Tony Jagitsch was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Arts

At an official ceremony in the Austrian Federal Chancellery Anton Jagitsch was decorated with the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Arts on 18 December 2025 (see official document as below). Among the numerous guests many friends of Tony Jagitsch as Waltraut Haas, Elfi Borghi, Rahim Badur and Peter Patak (International Atomic Energy Agency/Vienna), David Ritt and Karl Hochbichler (“Die Bachler”) and their spouses were present at the honouring.

As president of the European Glenn Miller Institute (www.eugmi.org) Anton Jagitsch takes great efforts since several years not only to lavish care and attention on the creative work of Glenn Miller but also to provide the interested public with full information on that well best-known American musician of the past century’s thirties and forties.

In this context Tony Jagitsch’ close cooperation with the American GLENN MILLER BIRTHPLACE SOCIETY headed by its president Marvin Negley has also to be mentioned.
